Lotion base ( adjust measurements to your liking)
1/2 cup sweet almond oil or olive oil
1/4 cup coconut oil
1/4 cup beeswax pellets ( use less if you want it less solid)
Optional 1 tsp Vit E oil
Optional 1 tbsp Shea butter or cocoa butter (do what work for you)
Adapted From www.wellnessmama.com and www.homemademommy.net
(This is a good recipe if making a sunscreen stick)
2 tblsp powdered zinc oxide
YLEOs:
Lavender- 15 drops
Frankincense 10 drops
Carrot seed 20 drops
Peppermint 5 drops
In a double broiler, melt beeswax pellets on medium to low heat. Don't let it boil. Cover it with a lid to speed the process but also stir it occasionally. Add coconut oil and stir it with a chopstick. When that's melted, add Shea or Cocoa butter and gently stir. Remove from heat when it's done melting. Add vit. E oil. Add zinc oxide, then essential oils. Continue stirring. Poor it in containers. Wait for it to cool. Enjoy and don't forget to eat right and drink lots of water!
My daughter Emma prefers this sunscreen to the other diy sunscreen lotion I made.
